Mining
Unprocessed ores from Calypso
Miners roam the continents on Calypso in search of resources that can be classified into two major groups: ores and enmatters.
There are over 50 ores and enmatters being traded on Calypso today ranging from common to extremely rare resources.
While mining, your avatar will be building a number of skills related to mining that include surveying, prospecting, mining, geology and more. Open the Skills Panel Skills Panel
Default Key: K
The Skills Panel allows you to view your avatar's current skill ranks and points.
Skill points are gained by performing different activites on Planet Calypso. The more skill points you acquire in an activity, the more proficient you will become in that activity.
Browse the categories and pages to view your avatar's starting skills. As you unlock further skills during your adventures they will be added to your avatar's Skills Panel.

Once you have the necessary equipment in your Inventory Inventory Your Inventory is used to store the different items you need to use during your adventures on Calypso. Your items are automatically sorted into compartments like clothing, armor, weapons etc., which can be viewed by clicking the compartment tabs on the right.
Default Key: I
The icons in the lower right area can be used to organize your Inventory, display only equipped items, view your avatar or place your avatar in camera focus.
The current weight of your Inventory and your PED account balance are also displayed for convenience. Dont forget that the weight of your Inventory will determine how quickly your avatar can move - something to bear in mind when exploring mutant settlements or dark woods - because there will be times when you want to get moving quickly.
Once equipped, operate the tool by left clicking, and a Seismic Bomb/Survey Probe is automatically released in one smooth motion. Seismic Bombs will explode where they are placed, and Survey Probes will burrow deep into the earth. An interface will then appear revealing the results of the prospecting attempt.
The interface will indicate if a resource deposit is found, displaying its Range, Depth and Type. It will also indicate where the deposit is located. A Resource Deed will also appear in a loot window, and a Claim Marker will appear on the landscape, clearly indicating the deposit site. It is then neccessary to move within 5 meters of the deposit site.

Mining can sometimes produce unexpected results, and if you should discover a strange signal while prospecting you might have found a piece of robot technology that can lead to an exciting encounter with robot forces - a Beacon Mission.
Drill Towers
Very large resource deposits yield a drill tower. A drill tower automatically extracts resources in regular intervals and needs to be emptied once every 24 hours for smooth sustained operation.
